HONOR HEROIC CITIZENS AND HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE

PURPOSE ELABORATION AND HISTORY
We have felt for some time that there should be some means of honoring the Heroic Citizen who has: performed some heroic deed; helped their neighbor out of a dire situation; possibly rescued some one or thing or performed some similar act. Thus the CITIZENS MEMORIAL was created. Not only are Heroes Honored, but the Heroes that are within CITIZENS MEMORIAL serve as a Model for millions to be inspired by and feel good about. This memorial is a Non-Profit (as defined under 501(c)(3) of the IRS), one of a kind, honor monument dedicated to all Heroic Citizens.
This idea originated in 1988. Funding was not readily available at the time to allow us to build a physical structure and propagate our endeavor to honor Heroic Citizens. The Internet having become main stream; has allowed us a viable means via a Virtual Memorial, to achieve Phase One of our Two Phase goal. We have fought many obstacles in the past several years in order to see this Virtual Memorial come to fruition. The Directors of CITIZENS MEMORIAL have contributed over $100,000.00 in the form of money and time to complete Phase-One of this Two-Phase Project. We are pleased to have completed Phase One, being this Virtual Memorial, in the fourth quarter of the year 2000 and are now able to "Virtually" honor those deserving individuals who have gone un-honored for so long.
Now, WE NEED YOUR HELP, to complete Phase Two of the full honor process, with the construction of the Physical Memorial.Importantly, it should be noted that CITIZENS MEMORIAL in addition to its main purpose of honoring Heroic Citizens, is dedicated to helping those families that are in need of financial assistance. It is our desire not only to be good Samaritans at Christmas time, but also to help those who are in need at whatever time it may be.
If you believe you or someone you know has accomplished some heroic deed or act which is above and beyond the normal, we invite you to complete the Heroic Honors Application form. There is no fee to become a Heroic Honoree. Accepted honors will be placed in our data base allowing access to their heroic deeds via our Virtual Memorial. All applicants will be carefully considered. To preserve the Integrity and Quality of our Hero Data Base, only those individuals that we have determined to have performed an actual Heroic Deed worthy of being placed into this Memorial, will be accepted as a Hero (see sample heroes).
MEMBERSHIP
We would like to invite you to become a Member of the CITIZENS MEMORIAL or simply make a tax deductible donation. By becoming a Member or making a donation, you will be helping promote the future of the CITIZENS MEMORIAL. You do not need to be a Hero or Honoree, to become a Member. We need your help to advance this endeavor. Therefore, by joining with us and becoming a Member or making a donation, you will be helping accomplish this goal.
There are two ways you can become a member, one is on an Annual basis, the other is a Lifetime Member. The Lifetime Membership is perpetual for the life of the Member and can be transferred to his/her heirs. If you decide to become a Member, you will receive a High Quality Certificate (see Sample of Lifetime Member Certificate), certifying you as a Member of the CITIZENS MEMORIAL. This Certificate is suitable for framing and is an item you can proudly display on your wall or desk. This Certificate will be an asset to the Member and the Member's heirs.
The Annual Membership is obtained with less commitment, but carries the same privileges as the Lifetime Membership. The Annual Membership has a duration of 12 months, and renewable annually.
The Membership may be obtained by/for anyone or occasion such as: yourself; the Honoree; person submitting Hero; friends; family members; business associates; birthdays; ceremonies; Christmas; Early Christmas present, etc…The Member can take pride in knowing that they are part of a national organization, that is dedicated to the honoring of HEROIC citizens.
In addition to having the distinguished honor of being a Member of the CITIZENS MEMORIAL, you as a Member will have access to activity reports of CITIZENS MEMORIAL, special events calendar, historical information, celebrity information and reference to other sites of interest. You as a member will be able to sell or buy your personal items FREE on our web site. You will also be able to list your home for sale, and your car, at no cost to our members, all FREE.
Additionally planned Membership benefits include: Chat Room, Bulletin Board and more as this site evolves.Help us by becoming a Member NOW, one of the select few, which will allow you to be positioned to own a piece of history, a piece of the Physical CITIZENS MEMORIAL (see PHYSICAL MEMORIAL).
Lifetime Membership requirement - Donation of $40.00 or more(Certificate Shipping & Handling included).
Annual Membership-Donation of $10 or more.In addition to this Virtual CITIZENS MEMORIAL, a physical building dedicated to the HEROIC citizen was planned for an anticipated completion in the year 2004. However, because of funding shortages, this date has been extended until 2006. The Memorial will be constructed at a site yet to be determined, for the purpose of honoring all citizens who have become a Hero in their own right. We have estimated that construction of this Memorial, including land, will cost approximately Five Million Dollars. Understandably this is a large outlay of monies, but one that deserves all of our efforts. The only means we have in completing this CITIZENS MEMORIAL is from your contributions. This is why we are asking you to honor all the Heroic Citizens, and contribute what you can to this construction fund. Your contributions are important, in that they will allow us to proceed and complete the construction of the CITIZENS MEMORIAL by the projected year of 2006.
We at CITIZENS MEMORIAL have the same problem as other charitable organizations and that is the shortage of funds to perform the tasks we are obliged to perform. Therefore it is important to us to utilize all funds as efficiently as possible. We are aware that you would like for your contributions to be utilized in the manner in which you intended their use, therefore, that is always our intent. We appreciate any and all contributions that will further the cause of CITIZENS MEMORIAL and its Humanitarian Dedication.
Your contributions are the lifeblood of CITIZENS MEMORIAL. We appreciate all your help, for without your help we could not continue the important work of honoring the heroes of our citizens and helping those families that are less fortunate, who need financial help for one reason or another.
At the present time, contributions are broken down into two parts, Construction and General funds. Construction funds are used to construct the physical memorial, which is to be build at a site yet to be determined. General funds will go to the daily operation of the organization and/or construction fund as needed (unless otherwise specified by the donor) and to assist/help the needy citizens that need financial help.
