| SAVING THE LIFE OF A FRIEND
Nathan Goodman did not get to celebrate his 17th birthday. Instead family and friends gathered to mourn the death of Nathan. Nathan was shot in the chest by gang members while he was trying to break up a fight between his friend and three gang members in the parking lot of Dominos Pizza in Oak Cliff, where he worked as a Manager. Nathan succeeded in saving the life of his friend, but not his own. Nathan was not a gang member. He was a student at Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas. Nathan planned on going to Texas A&M University to study Mechanical Engineering when he finished High School. All his friends speak highly of Nathan, who was a good upstanding young man that worked hard and was trying to save money so he could go to college. As Nathan Goodman&s coffin was placed in the hearse, friends stood outside the church where Nathan was a life long member and wondered why such a senseless act of violence had taken the life of such a good person, trying to save the life of a friend. |
