Heroic Deed or Accomplishment:

MEDAL OF HONOR HERO: Law was a specialist fourth class with the 75th Ranger Battalion, 1st. Infantry Division on a long-range reconnaissance patrol in the Tinh Phuoc, Thanh Province in Vietnam on Aug. 7th. 1970, when he and his team stumbled onto an enemy patrol. Law moved to an exposed position and began firing on the enemy, rallying his fellow soldiers. When the enemy lobbed a grenade into his patrol's position, Law covered it with his body, and died of wounds from the explosion. Reprinted From Ft.Worth Star-Telegram
